Built on Hard Work, Honesty, and Hands-On Expertise
My Story: Building from the Ground Up
I began my journey in the construction and remodeling industry in 1997, working alongside my stepfather on a variety of projects, from window and siding installations to full room additions. After three years of hands-on experience, I realized I had found my passion: building, problem-solving, and working with my hands. Driven by that passion, I obtained my business license, purchased my first truck and tools, and launched my own remodeling company, Professional Exteriors. For the next several years, I subcontracted for multiple companies throughout the Kingsport and Johnson City area, completing projects that ranged from small upgrades to major structural improvements. That experience not only sharpened my technical skills but also taught me the value of craftsmanship, hard work, and treating every home like it was my own.
Earning Trust Through Craftsmanship
As my remodeling business grew, I eventually began subcontracting exclusively with Lowe’s Home Improvement, where I remained for over seven years. Lowe’s corporate teams recognized the pride and care I put into my work. When a customer was dissatisfied with an installation performed by another contractor, Lowe’s would often send me to correct and complete the project, a responsibility I took seriously and one that further built my reputation for quality and integrity. In 2009, I was honored to be selected out of the entire Southeast region to represent Lowe’s and Pella Windows by installing windows and doors for ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover in Clarksville, Tennessee. That experience was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it solidified the principle I’ve carried throughout my career: always do the job right, the first time.
Building Bigger - and Learning Valuable Lessons
In 2010, I left my subcontracting role with Lowe’s, earned my Home Improvement Contractor’s License, and took the next big step: I opened a storefront business, specializing in the sale and installation of vinyl siding, replacement windows, decks, sunrooms, and room additions. As the exclusive dealer for Thermal Industries, I took pride in offering quality products and workmanship to homeowners across the Kingsport and Johnson City areas. For over three years, I operated completely independently, managing a team of employees and subcontractors. While the business was successful, I found myself increasingly unhappy with the stress and demands of management — feeling more disconnected from the hands-on work I truly loved. That realization eventually guided me toward the next, and most fulfilling, chapter of my career.
A Calling, Not Just a Career
In 2014, I can vividly remember driving home one afternoon and praying to God. I asked Him to help me find a profession where I could use my experience, rely solely on myself, and provide a good life for my family. In that moment, He instantly placed one word on my heart: Home Inspections. Just 45 days later, I was officially licensed as a Home Inspector by the State of Tennessee, a door that God opened and that I’ve been faithfully walking through ever since. I have always been detail-oriented, a perfectionist by nature, and someone who believes in hands-on work and personal accountability. Today, I combine those traits with the passion I have for home inspections to deliver the most thorough inspections and detailed reports possible for every client I serve.
I understand the reputation that home inspections, and home inspectors, can sometimes have.
That’s why I make it my mission to change that perception with every inspection I perform.
My inspections are not a “checklist” or “quick walk-through” service.
I conduct a meticulous, detailed evaluation of every accessible portion and component of the structure, going far beyond simply hitting the “high spots.”
I’m there for one reason: You.
My job is to thoroughly inform you about the condition of the structure, its systems, and most importantly, to help ensure that the structure is safe for you and your family.
One thing I can promise you:
If you choose me as your home inspector, you’ll receive my very best effort — every time.
