KC Bartley is the owner of Professional Home Inspections LLC in the Tri-Cities. With two beautiful daughters and over 20 years of marriage to his best friend, he’s as dedicated to his family as he is to his profession. With 27 years in the industry, he brings a wealth of experience to the table.
For 17 of those years, KC served as the owner of Professional Exteriors LLC, overseeing countless projects from deck builds to siding installations. His reputation for quality work allowed him an opportunity to install for ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover.
In his near-decade as a home inspector, KC has completed over 2700 Home and Commercial inspections and earned an impressive 500+ Google 5-star reviews. His dedication to excellence extends beyond his inspections; he’s the creator of the KC Bartley Inspection Template, trusted by over 600 home inspection companies and utilized in over 140,000 real estate transactions each year.

Home Inspector's Industry Experience
27+ Years of Experience
I started in the construction and remodeling industry in 1997 working with my stepfather doing remodeling projects, everything from window and siding installations to room additions.
After three years of working with my stepfather, I knew I had a passion for building and working with my hands. So, I obtained a business license, purchased a truck and tools, and started my own remodeling company; Professional Exteriors where I subcontracted for several companies in the Kingsport and Johnson City area for the next three years.
7 years at Lowe's Home Improvements
I eventually wound up subcontracting with Lowe's Home Improvements exclusively, where I stayed for over seven years.
Lowe's corporate knew of the pride in which I conducted my work, and would use me to "repair" installations that other contractors had conducted, where the client was unhappy.
In 2009, I was chosen out of the Southeast region to represent Lowe's and Pella Windows, by installing windows and doors for ABC's Extreme Home Makeover in Clarksville, TN.
Starting Contractor Business
In 2010, I left Lowe's, acquired my Home Improvement Contractor's license, and opened a storefront where I sold and installed Vinyl siding, replacement windows, decks, Sunrooms, and room additions as the exclusive dealer for Thermal Industries.
A little after three years of being totally independent, having employees and subcontractors, I was unhappy with the stress of management.
Getting My Home Inspector License
In 2014, I can remember driving home one day and praying to God.
I asked him to help me to find a profession where I could use my experience, only have to rely on myself, and provide a good life for me and my family.
He instantly put "Home Inspections" into my mind, and 45 days later I was licensed as a Home Inspector by the State of Tennessee.
I have always been detailed, been a perfectionist, and had a hands-on mentality. I combine these traits with the Passion I have for Home Inspections to provide the absolute best Home Inspection and detailed report I possibly can for every client I work with.
I often hear what other’s thoughts are on home inspections and home inspectors in general. I try to change that perception on each and every inspection I perform.
My inspection is NOT a “checklist”, hit the high spots type of inspection. I meticulously evaluate and report on every portion and component of the home I possibly can.
I’m at the home for one reason…YOU! It’s my job to inform you of the condition of all aspects of the home I possibly can, and most importantly that the home is safe for you and your family. There’s one thing I can guarantee, if you choose me for your Home Inspection, you’ll get my very best!
